Assessor's OfficeThe Assessor's Office is located at the Town Office 59 Main Street on Route 186, in Prospect Harbor, next door to the Fire Station. Assessor: Gary Geaghan Assessor's Assistant: Gil Mastrovito Office Hours: Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM The Assessor is available in the office on Fridays only E-Mail: assessors@gouldsborotown.com  Copies of property cards and evaluation sheets are available at a fee of $1.00 per property. A fax fee of $2.00 will be added for non-local numbers and an invoice can be sent along with the fax for payment by mail. Deeds are available for viewing during the hours the Assessor's Office is open and copies can be obtained at the cost of $1.00 per deed page. The Hancock County Registry of Deeds is available online and deeds can be viewed from your home. There is no charge for this service and you can access it at: Town maps are located in the back office. Reduced copies (11"x17") of the maps are available for $1.00 each. Smaller copies (8.5"x11") of specific sections of the maps are available for 15¢ each. Property maps may soon also be available for viewing here at the Assessor's Office Website. The Town's Tax Commitment Book is now available online as well.Homestead and Veterans Exemptions Applications for these exemptions are available in the office and must be submitted to the Assessor prior to April 1 for the exemption to be applied to the coming year. Currently, the Homestead Exemption is $13,000.00 off the assessed valuation of the property. If eligible, the Veterans' Exemption is $5,000.00 off the assessed valuation of the property. Exemptions for widows of veterans are also available, as well as Veterans' Exemptions for special circumstances (multiple veterans, blindness, etc).
