Coastal Recycling InformationFor general recycling tips for the Town of Gouldsboro's roadside recyclable's pickup, click here  When in Doubt... Please ask! Items Not Acceptable Antifreeze or motor oil containers Waxed or coated cardboard Insulated wire Door & Window Glass Mirrors Textiles Tires Porcelain sinks, tubs, etc. Household trash Christmas wrapping paper Hazardous waste Styrofoam or polystyrene If you have items (such as paint cans, motor oil, etc.) that are not accepted at Coastal, call your town office and encourage them to participate in an annual Household Hazardous Waste Day. Coastal Recycling accepts items sorted into the following categories: Corrugated Cardboard: flattened boxes & brown paper bags Newspaper: including inserts, magazines, catalogues and telephone books Paperboard: All other paper items including junk mail, office paper, cereal boxes, envelopes, colored paper, paper core rolls, etc. Steel Cans: tin cans such as tuna, soup and vegetable cans (magnetized) Aluminum: some cans, clean foil, and pie plates (NOT magnetized) Glass: all clean, rinsed glass, any color except mirrors, door and window glass Plastics: #2 jugs only, rinsed clean, clear or colored jugs, opaque milk and water jugs. No lids please. Scrap Metal: must have at least 75% metal content. Due to high handling costs, we must charge a small fee for the following items: $20 each for Freon removal from refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Propane Tanks, Oil Barrels and Oil Drums: Any size $10.00. Don't forget to browse Coastal Recycling's "re-use" section. Thank you for recycling! Please make our job easier by remembering these simple steps: • Materials are clean, dry and sorted. • Flatten all cardboard. • Remove all plastic, staples, and paperclips from paper items. • See an attendant for approval to drop off items at the rear of the building (white goods, propane tanks, etc.) • Please respect the fact we cannot be all at all times and for liability reasons cannot allow items to be dropped off when we are closed To contact us please call 422-6766 We are open Weds, Thurs, & Sat. 8am-4pm |
