Gouldsboro Police Department Visits Peninsula School; Dorcas Tree Lighting Ceremony

On November 14th Officer Brown and Officer Shively successfully completed a two day AR15 & M16 armorer’s course hosted by Windham Weaponry in Windham certifying both officers as AR15 and M16 armorers.

On November 15th Chief Dunbar attended the Gouldsboro Selectmen’s Meeting to give the final report on the purchase of the 2018 Ford Police Utility. Chief Dunbar also requested the board consider purchasing two illuminated school speed limit signs to replace the current signs on Main Street. Chief Dunbar will be attending an RSU24 transportation meeting to discuss RSU24’s position on purchasing/helping purchase the signs.

On November 28th Officer Shively reported to Waldo General Hospital after being requested by the Maine State Police for the purpose of conducting a blood draw for a fatal crash investigation.

On November 29th Chief Dunbar reported to the Ellsworth District Court to testify at a scheduled jury trial. The defendant accepted a plea deal prior to the start of the trial.

On November 29th Chief Dunbar attended the Gouldsboro Selectmen’s Meeting.

On November 30th Officer Shively reported to Ellsworth District Court to testify at a Violations Bureau Hearing. Both defendants failed to appear.

On November 30th Officer Shively and Officer Brown visited Peninsula CSD to interact with students during recess.

On December 4th Chief Dunbar and Officer Shively attended the Dorcas Library’s annual tree lighting ceremony on Main Street.

On December 5th Chief Dunbar reported to Ellsworth District Court to testify at a differed disposition/bail revocation hearing. The defendant accepted a plea deal.

On December 6th Chief Dunbar reported to Ellsworth District Court to testify at Grand Jury. The defendant was indicted for two felony counts and two misdemeanors.
