☘️ Nomination papers for the Town Municipal Election are available for pick up a the Town Office. Terms to expire: one Select Board seat (3-year term), two Planning Board seats (3-year terms), one Planning Board seat (2-year term). Papers much be returned to the Town Office no later than 1PM on Friday, April 10, 2026.
☘️ Budget season has begun at the regularly-scheduled Select Board meetings. The following budget meetings will be held March 26, April 2 (special workshop), April 9, April 23, April 30 (special workshop), and a final meeting on May 7.
☘️ The Town is issuing RFPs for a Police Cruiser and EMS Billing Services. Please click here to view the Police Cruiser RFP. The deadline for the Police Cruiser bids are due by March 23, 2026 by 12PM. Please click here to view the EMS Billing Services RFP. ☘️ The Town is soliciting bids for the operation of its Transfer Station for the period July 1, 2026-June 30, 2029. Click here to view and download the necessary document. Deadline for bid submissions is 12PM on March 20, 2026. Please be sure to label the bid envelope “Transfer Station Operation Bid” before delivering to the Town Office.

☘️ Effective Monday, March 2, 2026 the Town Office will be changing the hours of operation we are open to the public. We will now be closing from 12:15 – 1PM Mondays through Thursday for lunch. In addition, we will be closing at 5PM on Thursdays. Friday operations are unchanged. The new schedule is as follows:
☘️ Attention Shellfish Harvesters: Stave Island Bar will be opened from October 20, 2025 and will close June 30, 2026.
☘️ Please be aware, ALL Mooring fees were due by the end of August without penalty. As of September 1, a late fee of $25 has been applied to all outstanding mooring fees.
🗑️ Effective October 1: Cardboard will be treated as regular trash. It can be mixed in with other household trash. No clear plastic bag is needed, but a sticker will be required.
🗑️ The Solid Waste Committee has spoken with the City of Ellsworth, and the city is willing to take recyclables at their transfer station from Gouldsboro residents as long as they are clean and sorted. Please check in with the attendant at their transfer station if you are dropping off to ensure they are the right items and CLEAN. We thank the City of Ellsworth for their willingness to make their facility available to us.
