Documented Boats
According to MRSA Title 36, Section 1504 (8), the Excise Tax on Documented Vessels must be paid by July 1st of each year. Failure to pay this tax may result in liens being placed on any and all of your real properties and filed at the Hancock Registry of Deeds.

*New excise tax stickers are available by December 1st of each year.

Mooring Permits
Each mooring that sits in Gouldsboro waters is required to have a mooring permit. This was voted on and took effect at a special public hearing on July 27, 2023.

Each mooring permit is $51 and needs to be paid when submitting the application.

**Mooring fees are due by July 1st each year. Starting September 1st, a late fee of $25 will be charged to any unpaid mooring permits. This could result in loosing mooring privileges and your mooring pulled.**

🌷 The Town and Gouldsboro Police Department would like to inform residents and visitors that parking on the Corea Causeway is prohibited. Unauthorized parking may create dangerous conditions, restrict access for emergency responders, and hinder the safe movement of traffic. Compliance with parking restrictions helps ensure the safety and enjoyment of this area for all users.

🌷 Effective Monday, March 2, 2026 the Town Office will be changing the hours of operation we are open to the public. We will now be closing from 12:15 – 1PM Mondays through Thursday for lunch. In addition, we will be closing at 5PM on Thursdays. Friday operations are unchanged. The new schedule is as follows:

🌷 Attention Shellfish Harvesters: Stave Island Bar will be opened from October 20, 2025 and will close June 30, 2026. Hog Island Bunker Cove was scheduled to close on April 30, 2026. It is still open and plans to close for harvesting on June 30, 2026.

🌷 Please be aware, each year ALL Mooring fees are due by the end of August without penalty. As of September 1, a late fee of $25 will be applied to all outstanding mooring fees.
