Re-registering your motor vehicle? What we need:

  • Current effective insurance card
  • Previous registration
  • Current mileage

Here are some important things to know about registering a vehicle in Maine:
Have you recently purchased a new vehicle from a dealer? What we’ll need:

  • White certificate of title application
  • Bill of sale showing you paid sales tax
  • Current effective insurance card showing the new vehicle information
  • Current mileage
  • If you purchased more than one item resulting in one bill of sale, please be prepared to show the amounts paid for each

Have you purchased a vehicle from a private sale? What we’ll need:

  • Bill of Sale that includes date, price, VIN, description of vehicle, and signatures of both the Buyer and Seller
  • Original title is needed if the vehicle is newer than 2000
  • Proof of insurance
  • Current mileage

Moving from another state and need to register your vehicle in Maine? What we’ll need:

  • Vehicle registration from previous state (Current registration)
  • Current effective insurance card
  • Original title if it is 2000 and newer
  • Current mileage
  • Lien holder information paperwork (if applicable)

🌷 ATTENTION RESIDENTS AND VISITORS: MaineDOT has informed us they will be replacing the culvert at the intersection of West Bay Road (Route 186) and Route One on August 25 & 26. During this time, West Bay Road will be closed at the intersection. Please use Pond Road (Route 195) as the detour route. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

🌷 VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE: The Town of Gouldsboro is seeking residents interested in serving on its newly established Education Finance Committee. The committee will help the Town better understand and plan for the financial impact of education costs, including reviewing trends, examining budget and funding issues, and helping the Select Board and community consider the long-term implications for Gouldsboro taxpayers. Residents with an interest in education, municipal finance, budgeting, or simply the future of our community are encouraged to volunteer. No particular professional background is required—we are looking for thoughtful residents willing to learn, ask questions, and contribute to the discussion. 🌷Please be aware, each year ALL Mooring fees are due by July 1st and can be paid until August 31 by 4PM without penalty. Starting September 1, a late fee of $200 plus applicable processing fees will be applied to all outstanding mooring fees.
